Having worked as a professional chef in kitchens and restaurants for almost two decades, Chef Amanda brings her formal culinary training, as well as her ever-expanding knowledge base of food cultivation, to provide a confident blend of nurturing and nutrition.
She takes pleasure in menu development utilizing the abundant seasonal and local products made available to us here in the Pacific Northwest, experimenting with the endless opportunity that comes with both plant-based and omnivore diets, and aims to bring flavor and color to your meals by exploring various cuisines from all over the world.
With the intention to support clients as they navigate their unique dietary journey and individual needs, Amanda is driven to spark curiosity and excitement with whole foods as nourishment. Amanda has hands-on experience servicing clients with various therapeutic diet needs, as well as offering postpartum support. She lends a compassionate and empathetic ear throughout her service to you no matter what dietary restrictions may be present.
In addition to working with her clients through Gather Around, Amanda actively seeks inspiration from other cultures and her chef community as well as continued knowledge within our local food system to help best support farms and sustainable business practices. She enjoys spending time in her own garden, local music, experimentation in fermentation while playing around in her own kitchen, and exploring the Portland area with her pup.
